50's Sock Hop Pics + Nails :)

Last Weekend, My Boyfriend and I went to a 50's Sock hop!!!! We had a BLAST!!! I think we dance over half the time we were there ha-ha. Well as for what I wore and my nails everything it below! Keep reading!!

I have recently become slight obsessive with 50's hair, makeup, dresses, etc. So this was a perfect time to break out all my love for the 50's!!!!
I ended up finding my dress on e-bay for only 40.00$. I purchased a medium, and I ended up having to take it to a tailor and have it taken in. When I purchased my dress, it came with the red sash but not with the red petticoat. My grandmother ended up finding my red petticoat at a little dress store in South Carolina for 20.00$. I paired my dress with some red stilettos that I purchased from JCPenny for 40.00$. These were the same shoes I wore to prom at the first of this year. For jewelry I added a small pearl necklace and earrings. I did my hair in a 50's style I found on the Internet, and then pulled it back with a red ribbon and added curls to the ponytail.

I completed my 50's look, with so 50's makeup. I did a dark brown/black eye with winged eyeliner and red lips. I COULD NOT go without red lips. (I was in a huge rush on the night of the dance and didn't get any close up pictures of my hair and makeup sorry!!)

Colors I Used:
Base Coat- ""Ruby-Ruby" Sinful Colors
Black- "880 Black Heart" Sally Hansen
White- "134 French White Tip" NYC
Toes- "Red Glitter" L.A Fine Tip and "Gettin' Miss Piggy With It" OPI

Over all the dance went amazing! My boyfriend and I had a great time. My dress and nails look amazing! And we danced the night away!!
Below I will post so pictures that my mom took before the dance!

Nails for My Boyfriend's Graduation

On Saturday, My boyfriend, Isaac had his graduation
For my nails I decided I wanted something super cute, with some cool nail art. That would also match my dress. I had already bought my dress so I knew what colors I wanted to use. I ended up doing a sorta of Indian/boho kind of look. Which I got tons of compliments on! I also will include a picture of my dress below.

I really love the way this design turned out. I hand painted all my nails but my ring fingers. For my ring finger I did the water marbling effect. The only trouble I had with is manicure, was finding an orange to match my dress. I thought of going out to buy one. But time never allowed so I ended up making my own. For this I used one dot of "Big Night Out" from Rimmel, three dots of "Sunny Side Up" and three dots of "Hot Tamale" from Love My Nails. This mani match my dress perfectly and I love the way they turned out.

Colors I Used:
Base Coat- "Blue Collar" from Orly
Thumb and Middle Finger: "Magic" and "Gold Dust" from Pure Ice "Warm and Fozzie" OPI and
Orange
Index and Pinky Finger: "Warm and Fozzie" OPI, "Magic" from Pure Ice and the Orange I made
Ring Finger: In water marble I used- "Gold Dust," "Best Friend" and "Magic" and "Splash" Pure Ice

Other Pictues From The Graduation!

Waterfall Braid, I had a friend do for me!

My make up! I decided to do a neutral look with an orange,

My Boy and I

This was the only picture I ended up getting of my dress. Not the best picture of the dress. But it is super cute. I ended up wearing some copper wedges with it! Which went with the dress perfectly.

Dance Nails and Pics!

THE DANCE WENT AMAZING!!  I had a BLAST. For my nails I did something really fun and I love the way it turned out!

Colors I Used:
French Tip Fingers- "840 Black Heart" Sally Hansen and "Getting Miss Piggy with It" OPI
Tux- "840 Black Heart" Sally Hansen, "134 French White Tip" NYC and "Ruby Pumps" China Glaze
Bling Nail- "Ruby Pumps" China Glaze and "228 Chelsea" NYC

How I Did It:
For my Six French tip nails. I first painted my nails like you would for any French mani, except I did black tips instead of white. Next, I sponged on some red glitter to make the tips sparkle a little more.
For my two thumbs I painted one coat of "Chelsea" and then two coats on "Ruby Pumps". Once the polish had completely dried I began placing jewels. I ended up using some jewels I found at Walmart and the black jewels came from Hobby Lobby. I think for two packs of jewels I spent around 5.00$. To adhere the jewels I use kiss nail glue. For my two nails I used about 60 assorted jewels and it took my about an hour too glue them down. However, I was a little picky about the placement of the jewels. So depending on how picky you are and how many jewels you use it could take less time.
For my Tux nails, I stared by painting my whole nail black. Next, I used a fine tip brush and painted a "Y" shape from the end to the tip of my nail. I carefully filled in the top part of the "Y" with white paint. This created the shirt of my tux. I then added four white buttons on the coat part and two buttons to the shirt. To paint the bow tie, I used my dotting tool and "Ruby Slippers". I placed four dots in an "x" shape and connected them with thick lines. The tux nails look lots harder than they actually are. Just go slowly and they should turn out great.
This manicure was definitely one of my favorites and I love the way it turned out.

More pictures from prom!!!

For the Love of Shoes

I absolutely love shoes!!! Heels always grasp my attention while walking thought a store. However, I always seem to have trouble walking in them. Just my luck! But somehow over the past few months I've ended up with a few fabulous pairs of shoes!! I recently got some red heels. But I forgot to get pictures of them for this post. Here are two of my favorite pairs!!

These are "Worthington" four inch, peep toe stilettos. There are 40.00$ at JCPenney. They are super comfortable and very cute.

I ABSLOUTY LOVE THESE SHOES!!!! I am a HUGE sparkle fan and these shoes are sparkled covered!! They are from "Mossimo" and I got them at target for around 40.00$. I love the platform look and the thick heel they have!! There are a little harder to walk in, but I think that just because I have some balance issues haha.

I will try to get my new red heels up soon and also my dress for an upcoming dance I am going too soon.
Until later my fashion chickas.
XOXO,
Sierra
